Bush food (referred to as bush tucker in Australia) traditionally refers to any food which is native to Australia and is used as sustenance by the original inhabitants, the Australian Aborigines. For thousands of years Aboriginal people survived living off the land, eating well when food was plentiful & conserving it in times of drought. This food is called bush tucker or bush food, and it’s Australia’s native food.

Emu Dreaming-White-EDRW

Dreamtime: Emu is visible almost everywhere in Australia. It is the biggest bird in Australia. Except rainforest Emu is visible all over Australia. They have shaggy grey-brown feathers, long necks and long leg. Emu is biggest flightless bird bears the honour on “AUSTRALIAN COAT OF ARMS” Emu is the sole member of the family Dromaiid of the order casuarinas. The bird in 1.5-meter-tall and weigh more than 45kg. emus make far-carrying, booming and drumming calls. These fast-running birds live in small mobs and eat green plants, seeds and insects. A male emu incubates from 5 to 15 dark green eggs in a scape on the ground for 55 days. Barbara Egan a well know Aboriginal artist, is from Victoria, Australia. His designs are boldly colourful and attractive. He depicted the emu and its surrounding vividly. Barbara Egan has done an excellent for M&S Textiles Australia.

LAND OF UTOPIA WHITE

Utopia region of Australia is the home to many Aboriginals covering over 3500 sq.km with the Sandover River in the vicinity. A few of them now live in the metro area of Alice Springs and others in the camping sites out in the bush. They prefer living close to the bush, taking care of their land (country). The two main languages spoken in this area are Alyawarr and Anmatyerre.
The name Utopia (Uturupa), means ‘Big Sand Hill’, a region in the northwest of Central Australia. It is an amalgamation of several large and small communities. There are only a few schools, grocery supply stores, hospitals etc. in the remote areas of Utopia. Alice Springs, the nearest town is the best place for one-stop shopping. Highways, including unsigned roads, mud roads to local communities are a rich source of red-dirt as seen in the central deserts of Australia. Often this bigger picture is referred to Sandhills by the Aboriginal artists.
Anna Pitjara comes from Utopia region of Central Australia. She belongs to the Petyarre / Pitjara family and speaks Anmatyerre language. Her dreaming’s mainly involve Body Painting, Bush Yam, Yam Seeds, Sandhill etc.

RIVER DREAMING WHITE

Barbara Egan was born on the banks of the Murray river. She moved out to Robinvale with her father. In recent times, she has focused her art practice on her connection to Robinvale and the river surrounds. Her artworks are shown in various art galleries and many private collections. M&S Textiles Australia printed two of Barbara’s artworks.

In this artwork, Barbara depicted the twisted roots of the river bed, the ripples and the natural line patterns formed in the sand. Her dreamtime of the river and the surroundings were very brilliantly postured with her tremendous art skills. She used her art as a medium of teaching and sharing culture and knowledge.

SANDHILL WHITE

Geographically, a dune is a hill of sand built by wind action that results in suns of many different shapes and sizes. The importance of dunes is recognized by some countries namely United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand which have developed significant programs for protecting dunes by stabilizing them. In Central Australia there are many beautiful sand hills which provide a habitat for highly specialized forms of flora and fauna. Well known artist Anna Pitjara, beautifully depicts these sand hills on canvas with acrylic paints. Using white dots on a black background Anna portrays the effect of wind moving over the sand hills in the desert landscape near her hometown Utopia

The Senna is a large genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceac. Senna is native throughout the trophies, with only small number of species in the temperate regions. The total number of species is estimated to be about six hundred. Some Senna species are often used as ornamental plants for landscaping. It has various uses for medicinal purposes e.g. for gastric fluid secretion, bowel mobility, laxative action etc. Patricia depicted Senna leaves, flowers, and pods etc. boldly. It is vibrant and colorful. It is much closer to our campaign for fusion. Coeval use of Australian Aboriginal fabric and general floral designs. New innovations for today, tomorrow and forever.

Geraldine Riley has a very distinctive skill to represent nature and the Milky Way. Her well-meaning from the small and tiny dots represent Milky Way which is beautiful. The neat dots of circles and lines are another skill added to her excellent artwork. The shiny dotted circle shows Geraldine’s profound artistic talent.

She depicted two Milky Way mines which are represented on both sides of the circular mine. Circular dots in the center represent mining. She depicts it as the first astronomer mining the two Milky Ways. A long time ago, before the Milky Way was created there was an astronomer who built the milky way. He started to create this by mining milky ways in the galaxy.
